We are from here and we manage our own houses
Riu Rau Rentals was born in Jávea. Our property management is hands-on: we look after every house in the catalogue ourselves, in the Arenal, the port, Cala Blanca, Cala Baladrar, El Tosalet, Portichol, the old town, Cumbre del Sol and Jesús Pobre. No remote office, no middlemen. We know every key, every neighbour and every bus time down to the beach.
We work with families who already know the area and with people coming for the first time. Either way the logic is the same: we tell you how the house is, what you'll find nearby, what will surprise you about the town if you're coming from northern Europe and what you're going to love. No brochures, no stock phrases. We'd rather you knew what you were getting into before you book.
Book directly, with no commission
Each house has its own calendar and its own price by dates: you see them when you pick your days. We charge no booking commission on this site and we answer emails and WhatsApp messages morning and afternoon, in Spanish and English. When you book we sign a contract and take a deposit, for both holiday and seasonal lets.
If you're torn between two or three houses, write to us: in five minutes we'll tell you which one suits your group, the car you're bringing, the beach you're after or what you want to do in the evenings. It is quicker than comparing photos and it stops you booking the wrong house.
Jávea and the Costa Blanca
The bulk of the catalogue is in Jávea (Xàbia), between Arenal beach, Cala Blanca, the port and the heights of El Tosalet and Portichol. We add houses in Benissa (Cala Baladrar), Benitachell (Cumbre del Sol) and Jesús Pobre (Dénia). Villas, apartments and family houses, on the seafront or a short walk from it. All on the Costa Blanca, within a twenty-minute radius.
We don't work with houses outside that strip. We would rather know a small patch well than run apartments we couldn't reach in twenty minutes if something went wrong. It is the least glamorous part of the job, but it is the part that decides whether your week goes well or whether you spend half a morning waiting for someone to answer.
FAQs
What time can I check in and check out?
Check-in is from 16:00 and check-out before 11:00. If you need to arrive earlier or stay later, write to us in advance: if the house is free that day we'll sort it out, and if not we'll help you find somewhere to leave your luggage near the property.
How does a seasonal let differ from a holiday let?
A holiday let is for short breaks: days or weeks, with the calendar open all year. A seasonal let is for long stays: from one month to nine months, with a contract and a deposit. It is widely used for spending the winter on the Costa Blanca or working remotely from here for a few months.
Can I book just a weekend in summer?
It depends on the property. In high season it usually isn't possible: the houses are let by the week and short stays only fit when there is a gap left between two bookings. Out of season there is a good deal more availability and we usually do accept two or three nights. When you pick your dates in each house's calendar you'll see whether your stay fits.
Do you accept pets?
Some houses do and others don't. It depends on the owner, so the policy is set by each property's listing. If you are looking for a house with a dog, the quickest thing is to write to hola@riuraurentals.com with your dates, the area and the size of the dog, and we'll tell you which houses in the catalogue are available for that period for travelling with a pet.
Do you accept groups of young friends?
We let to families and to groups of adults. We do not accept groups made up only of people under thirty, nor celebrations or parties inside the houses. Smoking indoors is not allowed either. It is a rule across the whole portfolio, not for individual properties, and it avoids last-minute cancellations.
Do you have houses for sale?
That catalogue is in preparation and there are no properties published today. If you are interested in buying in Jávea, Benissa or on the Costa Blanca, write to hola@riuraurentals.com telling us what you are looking for: size, area, rough budget and what you want it for. We'll let you know as soon as we start with specific houses.
